Hot Cocoa Season

Thursday, December 5, 2013

Parker had his first Starbucks red cup experience yesterday. It was an instant love affair. Look at the joy radiating off that chocolate smeared face!

(For the record, immediately after this adorable photo was taken Parker finished his chocolate and then tried to take a swim in the fountain.)

It was one of the first days we've been out and actually needed jackets. Today was cold enough to skip the park and instead eat hot pho for lunch (my friend is amazing and cooks authentic, delicious food for a mere lunch play date). And I felt so inspired by the chill in the air - and the surprisingly long nap break - I baked banana and honey wheat bread.

While I generally dislike the shorter days that come with fall and winter I do love the cozy evenings. Tonight we ate turkey soup and then the three boys wrestled on the floor in front of the Christmas tree.

The little boys had an early bedtime (oh how I love that they can't tell time! And another plus for dark evenings too!) and then we enjoyed a quiet gathering of friends from church. We talked, laughed, prayed, listened, supported, and pointed one another back to the feet of Jesus.

I love Red Cup Season!

And, in case you missed it on Instagram, family photos are coming soon. Here's a sneak peak:

Isla has yet to have her own "red cup" experience because as I learned from Connor, once it starts, it doesn't stop! The kid wants something every time I go to Starbucks!
