Easter 2012

Since he's so darn adorable I just have to open with Landon's Easter photo shoot:

He is such a ham!

We had such a lovely Easter celebration this year. RJ read us the Resurrection story in the morning and Landon seemed to somewhat grasp the basic concepts. Although he was confused as to how Jesus lives in heaven since he also lives in Landon's heart. So precious. Then we celebrated the monumentous day of remembrance with a basket of goodies and an egg hunt. We have decided to skip the bunny thing completely and just tell L that everything is from mom and dad as a special way of celebrating the holiday. Following my mom's leading the little man got just a few things in his basket - a stylish outfit (including superhero underwear which was a big hit), a book, and one treat - gum. Gum is his newest obsession. And let me say it was joy without bounds around here when he realized he got his very.own.pack!

After an extremely gleeful egg hunt (and the management, counting, and recounting if his Easter egg candy) we were joined for brunch by some sweet friends. For a variety of reasons we actually decided to skip the huge church celebration our congregation puts on and instead fellowship with friends. I was sad to miss the big corporate gathering but really enjoyed our intimate gathering. Then there was enough time in the afternoon for naps (yay!) before dinner with more wonderful friends. It's difficult to live far away from relatives during Holidays but I am ever-so-thankful for the people in our lives that really feel (and act) like family. Feeling blessed.

He is so cool! I was wondering if you guys were going to make it to the Reality service - I saw the pics of the crazy crowd! But it sounds lovely to have a low key Easter...we kept it super chill too. Love to you!

Landon is ADORABLE!!! He is a seriously cute kid. And a kid!? He doesn't even look like a toddler anymore, but a grown up kid! Crazy how time flies!
