Santa Barbara Adventure

One of the best places about where we live is it's close proximity to so many great day trips.

All summer the boys and I took advantage of being near Santa Barbara. We went up there nearly weekly - mostly to enjoy the zoo. Last Monday we extended our adventure to include a picnic and duck feeding at Chase Palm Park, as well as ice cream on the pier.

My goal this next year (possibly my last year home with both my boys if we don't homeschool Landon) is to take advantage of being close to so many fun places. It's easier to take Parker out and about now that he's no longer an infant ; and Landon is at an age that he really enjoys zoos, children's museums, parks, etc. There are so many great places at our fingertips.

It might be lofty but I'm aiming for one big outing a week. (Including repeat visits such as the SB Zoo.) I also want to tackle some fall and winter camping in our area. Like I said, next year could look very different for our family (kindergarden and, hopefully, sister's arrival). This is a special time with my two boys and I want to appreciate every minute.
