Friday Favorites - Book Edition

Landon continues to love audiobooks (which are a nice alternative to TV when I need him to have some downtime.) I got Winnie-the-Pooh by A. A. Milne from the library, downloaded it onto my old ipod, and plugged in Landon's new headphones
(iHip DCF2400SU Classic Superman Logo Hi-Fi Noise Reducing, Folding Headphones Blue/Red) and he will sit and listen quietly for up to an hour!

I'll week I've had my nose stuck deep in Winter of the World: Book Two of the Century Trilogy by Ken Follett. I've been waiting and waiting for this book and finally secured a copy from the library. If you're a geek for historical fiction like I am then you can't go wrong with Ken Follett. He's a genius and weaving together complex characters, historical truths and exciting plots. (His Pillars of the Earth series is fantastic.)

Lately Parker and I have been enjoying one of my absolute favorite children's board books - Hug by Jez Albourough. It's a very simple book with only a few words but it's a real heart-warmer; about a baby gorilla that is looking for a hug.

And with a VW Syncro and Toyota Land Cruiser RJ has turned into a real 4-Wheel/Off-roading car guy. So instead of Surfers Journal I've been seeing Overland Journal (Spring 2013) around the house lately.

Also, we are headed out on a family road trip to Colorado in less than two weeks and I need some reading material. I'm looking for entertaining and light but still well written - any suggestions???
