Summertime, and the Livin's Easy

Saturday, June 28, 2014

Hello, blog.

Summertime is here!
Summer is my favorite.

When life gets rough, I like to hold on to my dream
Relaxing in the summer sun, just lettin' off steam

In Summerrrrr.

(I may have boys but that doesn't mean we don't enjoy a little Frozen around these parts too.)

I must admit that when the sunshine is out and the days are long this blog of mine gets a little less attention. I'm not planning taking an actual blogging break, just don't be surprised if my posting schedule a bit more irregular (than normal). Especially since next week we take off for a month in Montana! I'm so excited. I will be blogging our adventure but if you want to follow along more closely be sure to find me on Instagram (link on left sidebar).

Meanwhile, I'll fill you in on a bit of what's been going on with us:

- My mom came to visit which meant two date nights for RJ and I, lots of loves and snuggles for the boys, and even a mother/daughter shopping trip and lunch outing. Love you, mom!

- Landon did VBS two weeks ago and last week was his first real "camp" experience. It's not an overnight camp (we definitely aren't ready for that yet) but he went to Farm Camp each day last week. Our good family friends have been running farm camp for 29 years, and we've been waiting and waiting for Landon to turn 5 so he could go. He got to milk a goat, ride a pony, play with bunnies and kittens, pick berries, go swimming, feed pigs, and more.

- By yesterday afternoon he was absolutely toasted. Waaayyyy too much fun for one week.

- Parker and I enjoyed the one-on-one time. We did house projects, went on runs, and had a lovely beach day.

- We are renting our house out while we are away so I've been simultaneously trying to pack for Montana, clean our home, and organize our closets. Feeling a bit overwhelmed by it all actually.

- Parker is potty training and doing really well. I thought he was much too young but the pediatrician encouraged me to try since P seemed ready and sure enough he's getting it.

Otherwise, I'm doing a bit of reading, enjoying the light in the morning for earlier runs, and basking in the sunshine.

How's your summer going thus far?
