Who put him here?? This is going to be an interesting semester!" And then by the time we were sharing at the Christmas party, he was going on and on about how much he liked the kids and how much he'd learned. He had that great big grin of his on his face... so cute! I think it'll be like that with your kids, too. Like my hubby said, it's just about switching the mindset, which is hard with the world and your flesh telling you differently. But God's word is definitely true! Don't stop believing!! :)Linda Zhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12738531888976872731noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3479617772038556980.post-82334392813782840672008-05-27T15:49:00.000-07:002008-05-27T15:49:00.000-07:00Hey Anna,Came across your blog through Linda's...c...Hey Anna,
Came across your blog through Linda's...cool to get updated on you an the RJ! Hope things are good...

Just a couple of verses (I'm sure you've heard of) to hopefully shed some light on the Children=Life is Over mindset.

The first a positive command right after God created Man and Woman:

And God blessed them. And God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth." Gen 1:28

2nd one from the Psalms very different from life is over:

Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb a reward.
Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one’s youth. Ps 127:3-4

(I wasn't going to put the warrior one in but figured it would speak to RJ more than the fruit of the womb dealio ;)

I'll tell you what, our boyz are a handful and a half. Whenever my Bride leaves me for an extended period of time with them I wonder how she does it every day. But there isn't much, outside of building God's Kingdom, that can compare with having those beautiful, made-in-God's-image boys in our lives...nothing.

All that to say yes it's hard, yes it's a sacrifice, but everything worth anything is hard and a sacrifice. I'm gonna stick with God's positive command and His reward.
